Description
One of Africa's smallest countries Sao Tome and Principe constitutes two islands of volcanic origin and a number of smaller islets. Once a leading cocoa producer, the country expects to gain significant revenue from commercial exploitation of large offshore reserves of oil, thus reducing its dependence on donors and cocoa exports. Other exports are palm oil and coffee.
