Description
Cameroon's natural resources are well suited for agriculture and forestry. The country relies heavily on agricultural exports which include cocoa, coffee and cotton. Other vibrant sectors include livestock and fishing. Cameroon has vast timber reserves covering an estimated 37% of total land area. The country's vast mineral resources remain underexploited. Waterfalls and rapids offer opportunities for hydroelectric development. Cameroon's other exports are crude oil and petroleum products, timber and aluminum. The country has a diverse transport system and four sea ports including a major port, Douala, which is linked to major cities in the country by developed roads.
