Burkino Faso economy to grow by 4.4% - IMF
Thu, 15 Apr 2010 10:11Bloomberg reports, Burkina Faso’s economy will probably expand 4.4% this year, boosted by agriculture and mining, the International Monetary Fund (IMF) said.
Growth is expected to rebound from 3.2% in 2009, the IMF said in a statement on its website. The budget deficit will probably reach about 5% of GDP this year, while inflation will ease to below 3%, the fund said.
Burkina Faso met targets set by the IMF as part of an Extended Credit Facility and the lender’s board will probably consider a new funding program for the West African nation in June, the IMF said.
