The African Development Bank is to open an office in the Angolan capital Luanda amid preparations to increase loans to the continent’s second-largest oil producer, reports Reuters.
Angola has emerged as one of the world’s fastest-growing economies following the end of the civil war in 2002. Offshore oil production and diamond mining are the Angolan economy’s two biggest sectors, while widespread resettlement of displaced persons has produced opportunities in the housing and agricultural sectors.
The African Development Bank is involved in projects aimed at improving the quality of life of ordinary Angolans.
