Tourism sector: Tourism is among the fastest growing sectors of Uganda's economy. It's geographical diversity and wide range of flora and fauna makes it a unique tourist destination. Uganda is famous for its mountain gorillas, which represent about half of the world’s remaining gorilla population. Investment potential lies in developing tourist facilities and activities, and tourism infrastructure. Attractive incentives are available for tourism investors as the country seeks to draw Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) in a very competitive region.

Investment opportunities

Areas with potential include the following:

• Developing the ecotourism potential, which would particularly benefit tour operators seeking niche market segments. 
• Establishing tourist facilities and services, particularly and quality and high-end hotels. Organising cross border tours, cruises on the Nile River and a cabin ferry service on Lake Victoria.
• Development of hospitality training institutes.
• Concessions at the national parks are available to companies interested in developing tourist facilities in parks.
