The Greater Mapungubwe (formerly Limpopo-Shashe) Transfrontier Conservation Area is a vast and hauntingly beautiful site containing evidence of an ancient African civilisation, dinosaur remains and Stone Age and Iron Age archaeological sites.
Home to the largest elephant population on privately owned land in Africa, the Greater Mapungubwe TFCA is situated at the convergence of the Limpopo and Shashe rivers and borders Botswana, South Africa and Zimbabwe.
The TFCA consists of the Northern Tuli Game Reserve in Botswana, the Tuli Safari area in Zimbabwe and the Mapungubwe National Park and World Heritage Site in South Africa.
The Venetia Limpopo Game Reserve, a fully functional conservation area owned by De Beers, is to be added soon to enlarge the transfrontier conservation area by about 32 000 hectares.
Two investment opportunities are available in the Zimbabwean boundary of the Greater Mapungubwe TFCA:

Maramani lodge
Investment opportunity: The Maramani lodge is situated in the Zimbabwean component of the Greater Mapungubwe TFCA and the opportunity exists in the form of a community partnership for the establishment of a tented lodge.
This lodge facility envisions the provision of 12 two-bed accommodation facilities and communal facilities. Activities on offer in this facility will include the unrivalled scenery, game and bird viewing, off-road activities and fishing.
The site could be either on the eastern bank of the Shashe river or the northern bank of the Limpopo river. From here, visitors can experience the cultural heritage site at Mapungubwe as well as enjoy game drives and hiking trials.
